Welsh Government School Uniform Grant Scheme 2016 /17 

Pupils entering Year 7 of maintained secondary schools in Wales in the 2016/17 school year who are eligible for free school meals will be eligible for the school uniform grant; as will pupils in special schools, special needs resource bases and pupil referral units in Wales who are aged 11 at the start of the 2016/17 school year and who are eligible for free school meals.

Girls Years 7-11

  • White shirt
  • Black tailored trousers (leggings, ‘miss-sixty’ trousers, cargo, combat, jeans style trousers and items made of denim or corduroy are not acceptable) or pleated skirt (2-4 pleats only, on or slightly above the knee – please see images)
  • Royal Blue jumper with school logo
  • Black blazer with school logo (optional)
  • School Tie (self-tie or clip-on)
  • Black tights (at least 40 denier) or black or white socks
  • Black shoes (no canvas or trainer-like shoes; white or coloured soles/piping/stripes/laces and any printed designs/logos/symbols are not acceptable)
  • Dark coloured school coat (no leather or denim)
  • PE Kit: T-shirt; skort, shorts or joggers, hockey socks, hoodie (optional), lightweight jacket (optional)

 

Boys Years 7- 11

  • White shirt
  • Black tailored trousers (cargo, combat, jeans style trousers and items made of denim or corduroy are not acceptable)
  • Royal Blue jumper with school logo
  • Black blazer with school logo (optional)
  • School Tie (self-tie or clip-on)
  • Black or grey socks
  • Black shoes (no canvas or trainer-like shoes; white or soles/piping/stripes/laces and any printed designs/logos/symbols are not acceptable)
  • Dark coloured school coat (no leather or denim)
  • PE Kit: T-shirt, rugby shirt, shorts, rugby socks, hoodie (optional), joggers (optional), lightweight jacket (optional)

 

Please note:

  • Outdoor coats/jackets must NOT be worn inside the school building.
  • Jewellery: One pair of stud earrings. No other piercings.
  • One ring and a watch permissible. No other jewellery.
  • Make-Up: subtle make-up only (if necessary). No nail varnish. Natural hair styles and colour only.
  • Parents are asked to ensure that ALL uniform is clearly labelled with the name of their child in order to assist in the safe return of their lost property.

Sixth Form Students 

While there is no set uniform for the 6th form, students are required to dress appropriately for the school day in smart attire. To support this jeans & trainers will not be allowed.
