Pupils complete successful Bronze DofE Expedition in hottest weather this year

Seven pupils completed their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze expedition in the Elan Valley last weekend, hiking 14Km on the Saturday along the Wye Valley Walk and over the hills to the Elan Valley, and then, completed a further 15Km on the Sunday, along the reservoirs to finish exactly on time at the Elan Valley Visitors Centre.  The happy, though exhausted expedition team, were Iwan Blakeway, Cerys Greason-Walker, Hannah Moscrop-Cross, Bethan Jones, Lauren Kinsey-Owen, Dylan Sterry and Tiegan Ward.  Congratulations to all of them for their hard work and effort and for completing their Expedition section.

A special mention and thanks to Ms Stonefield for organising and supporting the pupils throughout the year, Mrs Phillips and Mrs Edwards, and our volunteers Caroline Mears, Gafyn Blakeway and his son Rhodri for manning checkpoints throughout the weekend and keeping the group supplied with water.
