Builth Bulletin - 6

Welcome

This week has been hectic with our Year 6 pupils enjoying a range of activities to support them in their transition to High School. Today we have hosted a fantastic tag rugby tournament coordinated by our Rugby Development Officer and ex-Wales International Andy Powell was on hand to present the medals. Our American students have been visiting the Gower and Cardiff. They were amazed by the long sandy beach and by how far the tide went out!

The rain held off for our Summer Fair last night and pupils, staff, parents and the community enjoyed a range of games and stalls selling a variety of produce. We would like to thank the Friends of the School for organising the BBQ and running the raffle.

Thanks to Mr Marrs and Mr Nash for a successful trip to Wimbledon where some pupils were lucky enough to watch Andy Murray play on Centre Court.

Rotary Young Photographer

Congratulations to Gwen Rees 8C who was awarded highly commended for her photographs in the South Wales Rotary Young Photographer of the year, Intermediate class 2016.

A word from Gwen, "Pupils from my class were invited to submit photographs for the Rotary Young Photographer of the Year competition. We had to enter three photos to do with the theme ‘Our World is Beautiful’, so I decided to use the theme of water in my pictures. I was selected from the school round and went through to the regional round, where I won a runner up prize for South Wales. I travelled to the Senedd in Cardiff to receive a certificate and view the other finalists’ work."
