A Musical Evening at Builth Wells High School

On Tuesday 10th May the music department of Builth Wells High School held a fantastic musical evening in Y Bwyty.

The evening comprised of items from the School Orchestra, Jazz Band, Senior Choir, String Orchestra, School Choir, Year 13 Leavers’ ensemble and various other ensembles and soloists from years 7-13.

As usual this evening was to celebrate the contribution of the year 13 students to the musical life of the school and it was a public way of saying thank you to these students for their contribution to the musical life at BWHS. Head of Music, Mrs Ennis presented each student with a small spray of flowers.

With a raffle and refreshments at the interval, the evening passed with a real swing, and community spirit in abundance. CDs of GCSE, Year 12 and Year 13 compositions were also for sale.

Finally a vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs Ennis to all the participants and the peripatetic and music department staff. The music department would like to thank all the pupils who took part and the audience for supporting the evening.
