Welcome

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents, carers, family and friends who supported our 2016 school production “Into the Woods”. The abundant talent of Builth Wells High School students and staff was showcased in fantastic performances at the Wyeside. We all eagerly await the next big show in 2018!

 

Wales' top ten schools on The Sunday Times list

The Sunday Times has published its annual list of top performing schools.

The list of the top 2,000 state and independent schools is compiled using the latest academic results and includes links to schools’ most recent inspection reports.

The rankings in the secondary school league tables are determined by the percentage of examination entries gaining A* to B grades at A-level this summer and the percentage of entries returning A* and A grades at GCSE.

Poppy Appeal 2016

The school has supported the British Legion Poppy Appeal 2016. Thanks to the efforts of our Head boy and girl and supporting 6th formers we have raised the sum of £273.18.

 

 

General Announcements

 

Rotary Young Chef

On Thursday 24th November the Builth Wells round of the Rotary Young Chef competition took place. Congratulations to Gethin Lewis who came first and will now go on to represent the Club and the school in the area round in January 2017. We must mention our runners up Dafydd Woodland and Elidh Hughes We would like to thank the excellent judges Peter James and Shaun Bailey for their support and also for the generous prizes that they donated.

 

 

Baby boy

We would all like to send Mrs K Davies (and Mr Davies of course!) our congratulations following the birth of William George Davies – llongyfarchiadau oddiwrth staff a disgyblion yr ysgol.

 

Mid Powys Youth Theatre (MPYT)

Congratulations to all of the talented pupils from Builth Wells High School who performed “Not the end of the world” with MYPT at Wyeside.

Friday 16th December – last day of term and Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day (£1 donation to Save the Children)
