Governing Body Position regarding the Schools Modernisation Programme

The Governing body has issued their Position Statement (November 2016) regarding the Schools Modernisation Programme.

"With the Secondary Modernisation Programme for Mid Powys now in its final, objection period, the Governors of Builth Wells High School feel the time is appropriate to summarise to parents and pupils both their record of activity during the process and their thoughts on its conclusions.

The Governing Body of Builth Wells High School represents a large and culturally diverse geographical catchment from Rhayader in the north to Sennybridge in the south, Llanwrtyd Wells in the west to the English border to the east and naturally our parents and pupils, both English and Welsh speaking, reflect that by expressing a very wide range of educational priorities. The Governing Body is tasked with representing this diversity while being first and foremost focussed on raising educational standards for all of our pupils. The Governing Body is committed to ensuring that 11-18 bilingual education continues to be provided on a Builth Wells Campus. ..."
